Oh the pleasure of reassuring nods,
and the soothing blankness of undisturbed sleep.
You are the loud-speaker which guarantees a vast audience.
You taught me well the value of mass delusion,
and the benefits of ostracizing difficult rivals.
I bow before your power to overwhelm truth - the notoriously elusive dissident.
How I enjoy the smooth ride in your comfortable canoe, meandering swiftly downstream through the difficulties of life.

So many of us are psychologically dead (life paralysed) because every time we encounter REALITY is like an electric, drastic, SHORT shock; and hardly anybody can act on it (to act is to know more) – most of us just react: shiver, shrink and run into our personal caves and show just our small claws... or use the tube…
I know this, first hand, this is the (controlling) fear, it is kind of inherited substance. Once realised we have to make a choice: rebel against it or submit to it. Most of us just submit because it is more comfortable, cosy, simple. Aggression is also a submission because in most instances it is just a sanchismo (I am who my master is and he knows better)…

Yes, a submission (hate or dislike) due to tradition(s) is very paralysing, and as above, it is the deadening element. I feel good therefore I fuck all (‘the rest’) – all includes myself.

Truth is you and me. If anyone says different they are frauds, cheats, nasty bastards. Nobody mustn’t influence YOUR truth, nobody, it is YOUR truth! Truth is as private as your arm pit or the drop of water on your morning spider web – it is yours – the most private of our life experiences.

It is so eluding to… just give in… it is so easy to say: I must be who they suggest I ought to be. It is so eluding to see the only way there is (the shown way)… But there is much easier way to get there: just cut your throat and the Will be done… do we really exist for others will to be done?
In the end the sleep is the proof of the ‘proper’ existence but do we have to be sleepy?
If you get a chance read Norwid's two poems (they're quite short):
Kolko Domowe
Dumanie 1
I think I can sympathize (Kolko) with him: a conscious outsider - seeing how others fall for the farse of what they call human closeness/bond.
My poem is a yelp, uttered due to the inability of containing frustration - a bit like a pressure valve. I appreciate your reflections on it.
This "'human closeness/bond'" is my real pain - pain of my life with certain others.
Norwid is, of course, the greatest of our poets. I have my special, goat bound edition of Norwid (Czytelnik, 1979). No other one cherished his/her genius to the fullness.
It is very painful to read his critique of the Polish spirit because nothing has changed, nothing! I guess it could be called the rule of decaying tradition. It is such a stronghold on so many (even me...).
Your poem describes exactly frustrations which we all experience and most of us just shrug them off as a nuisance instead of fighting them to be killed and replaced with new ones. NB I am not after a world with no frustrations as you see.
